TAWAU: The Federation of Chinese Associations Tawau (FCAT) donated five units of Philips Efficia CM10 5-Patient Parameter Monitors which cost about RM90,000 (RM18,000 each) to Tawau general hospital as early preparation to cope the high-risk of Covid-19 outbreaks after Hari Raya Aidilftri.
Its chairman Datuk Dr Lim Teck Kiong hoped this contribution could benefit the patients, especially those suffering from Covid-19. The five units of Patient Parameter Monitor would be placed at the Covid-19 wad and the emergency unit.
He said the federation would continue to keep in touch with Tawau hospital and try to provide assistance where needed by the hospital during the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO).
Lim told reporters after handing over the five units to the Tawau hospital Friday morning which received by its director Dr. Norlimah Arsad.
Also present were Deputy Director, Dr Azman Ibrahim as well as FCAT’s committee members.
He said every individual has the responsibility to prevent the outbreak of Covid-19 by maintaining self-hygiene and complying with the restrictions of CMCO at all times. All parties neither corporate sector nor private sector also must work together in fighting against this epidemic.
Dr Norlimah also expressed his gratitude to the generosity and efforts done by FCAT in helping Tawau hospital and Tawau community.
FCAT was established in 1981 and now has 46 Chinese associations.
