Repsol, YNJ donate food packs to fishermen

Kota Kinabalu: Repsol Oil and Gas Malaysia Limited and Yayasan Nur Jauhar (YNJ) on Monday collaborated to donate food packs to 250 fishermen families to help alleviate the challenges of putting food on the table during the government’s movement control order (MCO) to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.The food packs will be distributed to the homes of 250 selected families from Kuala Penyu, Sepanggar and Tuaran areas who have been identified by the Sabah Welfare Services Department.

Repsol’s Communities and Government Relations Adviser for Sabah/Labuan, Datuk Eddie Abdullah informed that the fishermen community was picked as recipients of this initiative in view of the company’s closeness with fishermen as Repsol, an offshore oil and gas operator in Sabah waters, and the fishermen both shared the sea as their source of income.

At the same event, Repsol Malaysia donated face masks to the Sabah Journalists Association (SJA) and Kota Kinabalu Journalists Association (KKJA).
