Upko donates to flood victims

Pitas: Upko, through its Natural Disaster Bureau, distributed donations to flood victims in Pitas on Wednesday.The donation, in the form of rice and used clothes, was handed over by bureau chairperson Georgina George who led a group comprising party leaders and bureau members in the visit to several flood-affected areas in the district. Upko Deputy Wanita Chief Datin Juliana Janni, Wanita Exco Member Sainggim Majungil, Youth Exco Member Petrus Condrad, Komulakan Exco Member Selvestone Junit as well as Assistant Information Chief and Kudat Division Chief Kudat Divison Chief Lightson Kohiya were also present.

During the presentation of the donation at Kampung Masin, Georgina who is also Paginatan Community Development Leader expressed hope that there would more organisations or individuals coming forward to provide assistance to the flood victims.Apart from that she also hoped that the drainage and irrigation system can be improved further so to minimise the chances of floods recurring in future.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
