RM100,000 gift to Palestinians
Kota Kinabalu: Yayasan Al-Aman today donated RM100,000 to help ease the burden of Palestinians suffering from Israeli attacks in Gaza. The donation was presented by the foundation's patron, Datuk Seri Musa Aman, to Palestinian Ambassador to Malaysia, Dr Anwar H. Al Agha at the Hari Raya open house of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan here Wednesday.

At the same function, Abdul Rahman also presented RM50,000 to Dr Anwar from Media Prima's Palestine Humanitarian Fund.

Musa, who is also Sabah chief minister, said he appreciated Abdul Rahman's invitation to the Palestine ambassador to the open house so that he could hand over the donation to him directly for the Palestinians.

"We are aware the Palestinians are suffering because of the attacks and the cruelities inflicted by the Israelis.

We are sympathetic and ready to offer any form of assistance to them," he said.

. Also present were Sabah State Assembly Speaker, Datuk Seri Salleh Tun Said, state local government and housing minister Datuk Hajiji Mohd Noor, Special Affairs Minister Datuk Teo Chee Kang and leaders of Barisan Nasional component parties.

Meanwhile, Musa sympathised with the families of the victims of Malaysia Airlines (MAS) MH17 aircraft tragedy.

Flight MH17, from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was believed to have been shot down in Donetsk, Ukraine on July 17.

Musa said this year's Hari Raya was celebrated on a moderate scale as the state open house was cancelled in view of the two MAS aircraft tragedies, the other being the vanishing of MH370 in the southern Indian Ocean on March 8.
