Man stabbed during LD robbery

LAHAD DATU: A 31-year-old man suffered multiple stab injuries, believed to have been sustained in a robbery incident in his house at Felda Sahabat here, Thursday.District Police Chief ACP Nasri Mansor said police classified the case as a robbery as two of the victim’s mobile phones were missing.

Nasri said the victim’s wife heard her husband, who was sleeping in the living room, asking her to open the room’s door at about 11pm.
“The wife who was sleeping in the room with their two children immediately asked for help from their neighbour when she saw her husband covered in blood,” he said, Friday.
According to Nasri, the victim was brought to Felda Sahabat 16 Health Clinic for initial treatment before being transferred to the Lahad Datu Hospital.
Nasri said checks showed that the victim had stab wounds on his stomach and another on his thigh. The victim, who works as a general worker in Felda Sahabat, is in stable condition.

“The case has been classified as robbery following our preliminary investigation and we have also seized a knife believed to have been used in the incident.
“However, investigation is still ongoing and efforts to trace down the suspect(s) have been launched to assist us in the investigation of this case under Section 394 of the Penal Code,” he added. - Efa Rizan
