Sandakan Councillor decides to cut grass himself!

Sandakan: A Municipal Council member, Taren Sunil Manoharan, called on JKR Sandakan not to neglect its duties, including minor jobs like grass cutting along road dividers and roundabouts."Cutting overgrown grass at such places may not seem like a big issue but leaving the grass uncut will block the view of motorists and could result in serious accidents along our roads," said Taren, speaking in his personal capacity.Taren, who heads the Council's roads and public facilities section, pointed to two stretches of road at the intersections at Mile 11 and Mile 14, Jalan Labuk.

"The grass at these two places have grown so long that they blocked the view of motorists and other road users. "Grass cutting is under the job scope of JKR and we hope JKR will look into the matter quickly as this affects the safety of motorists and road users," he added.It was learnt that one councillor, Rosly Bin Aziz, decided to act on his own to prevent measure any possible unfortunate incident at the two places due to the overgrown grass. "Maybe it is an oversight on the part of JKR, but we urge JKR not to overlook the scope of their duties, which include grass-cutting," said Taren.
