Dept responsible for compensation

Penampang: The Land and Survey Department is responsible for compensation for lands taken by the Pan Borneo Highway project, said Datuk Darell Leiking. The Member of Parliament-cum-Minister of International Trade and Industry, said:

"If they have received the fund from the Federal Government for the compensation then the State Valuation in the Land and Survey must do their job and explain to the people. Do not keep quiet as the people want answers." On another matter, Leiking requested newspapers to be factual with their headlines as sometimes it does not go with the contents especially when sensationalised. "Then the people will create stories based on the headlines without reading the contents."He repeated that Warisan does not condoned any IC given to illegal immigrants, saying he has been asking for proof if this had happened. "Some had shown us cards stating 'Bermaustatin Tetap' issued in 2013 but who were in government then?" he asked.
