Pledge to assist Tawau college

Tawau: State Assistant Minister of Education and Innovation Jenifer Lasimbang pledged to assist Kolej Tingkatan Enam Tawau in carrying out repairs and increase the required hardware equipment of the college.Jenifer also promised to install air-conditioning in the college hall for the comfort of the students and teachers during assembly and functions.Also present during her visit were the Deputy Director of Chinese school in Sabah Education Department Tham Yun Fook, Chairman of Chinese primary school management committee Tawau Khoo Gait Piang, President of Tawau Municipal Council Alijus Sipil, college Principal Eko Sukohidayat Sunarto, Sri Tanjong Community Development Leader Koo Hung Eow and Tawau Councillor Philip Yap.

Jenifer was informed that the college's ceiling fans, classroom ceilings and bus shelter were badly damaged which created inconveniece to the students and teachers.Eko Sukohidayat disclosed that Kolej Tingkatan Enam Tawau currently has about 1,000 teachers and students. He hoped that the government will assist in improving the college's facilities in order to create a conducive learning and teaching environment for the students and teachers. - Christy Chok
