Selangor: Police have arrested three more individuals to assist in investigations into last week's riots at the Sri Maha Mariamman temple at USJ 25, Subang Jaya. This brings the total number of people arrested to 102 as of 8am this morning.

Selangor police chief Datuk Mazlan Mansor said the trio were detained around the city between last night and this morning.

"With their arrests, we have detained 102 men, comprising 49 Malays, 44 Indians, one Chinese and eight Indian Muslims," he told a press conference after attending the Maulidur Rasul celebration here.

The Nov 26 fracas resulted in fireman Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim suffering serious injuries and he is being treated at the National Heart Institute (IJN). The rioters also burnt 23 vehicles, damaged a building and disturbed public peace.

Asked if police would record a statement from Muhammad Adib, Mazlan said they were waiting for the green light from IJN.

"For now, let him complete his treatment at the hospital," he said.

Commenting on police probe on Selangor state executive councillor V. Ganabatirau regarding the incident, Mazlan said they would refer the investigation papers to the Deputy Public Prosecutor soon.

"We have taken the recording of his conversation and the case is being investigated under Section 504 of the Penal Code," he said.

Meanwhile, Mazlan also said that two employees of the developer were released on bail at 4.45pm yesterday.

"The bail at RM10,000 was granted by a magistrate with a bond under Section 118 of the Criminal Procedure Code and the two must be present at the Petaling Jaya Magistrate's Court on Dec 12 for further decision," he said. – Bernama
