CRM, IQVIA sign MOU for  advanced cancer therapy studies
Kuala Lumpur: Clinical Research Malaysia (CRM), a non-profit making company owned by the Health Ministry, has signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a strategic alliance with IQVIA's global Early Phase Oncology Network (Epon).CRM Chief Executive Officer, Dr Akhmal Yusof said the agreement, signed on Nov 28, was a major step for Malaysia to provide advanced phase one studies for investigational cancer therapies.

The agreement also makes the clinical research centre at Sarawak General Hospital as the first in Southeast Asia to be part of IQVIA's prestigious network of globally-qualified phase one oncology sites.

"Advances in genomics offer new hope for targeted oncology products. Through this agreement, Sarawak General Hospital will join IQVIA's global Epon, which is designed to provide fast, high-quality phase one oncology studies to biopharmaceutical companies," he said in a statement issued on Wednesday.

Established in 2012, CRM's role is to advance global health solutions for a brighter, more hopeful future for the people by providing speedy and reliable end-to-end clinical research support for quality studies.

IQVIA is a global provider of advanced analytics and technology solutions to the life sciences industry and has been conducting oncology early research in Asia Pacific for more than two decades. – Bernama
