Sea navy bases still relevant, says outgoing commander

Sandakan: The Tun Sharifah Rodziah and Tun Azizan navy sea bases in Semporna and Sandakan are still relevant to provide assistance in an emergency situation.Royal Malaysian Navy Commander Admiral Tan Sri Ahmad Kamarulzaman Ahmad Badaruddin considered these bases as the navy's innovative projects which were established years ago and has to date produced a visible deterrence.He said their presence had deterred external threats from encroaching into state waters.

"They will not dare to cause any threats when seeing these assets in the middle of the sea."And in case of emergency, response from teams stationed in each base is faster," he told reporters after visiting the Sandakan Regional Navy Headquarters on Saturday.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
