Jeffrey shocked, says ruling ridiculous
Kota Kinabalu: Star President Datuk Dr Jeffrey Kitingan (pic) is shocked by the High Court's decision to dismiss the summons case of former Sabah Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman. "There is no decision made on the summons case because the judge dismissed the summons...but if you dismiss it normally you don't do a hearing," he said.

"But for this case the hearing has already been completed, then the judge dismisses it. So what is the decision? There is no decision actually," he said when approached outside the courthouse.

"This is to say that our constitution is the same as the Perak case, which I don't think so," Dr Jeffrey said, referring to the political crisis in Perak which brought down the then Pakatan Rakyat state government just 10 months after winning the 2008 general election.

"This is also to say that the Head of State can decide who has the confidence (by signatures) of the majority, not the State Legislative Assembly (DUN)? Which means usurping the power of the DUN?

"This also means that the Agong can decide whether Tun Dr Mahathir can remain as Prime Minister or not...this court decision, I think, is ridiculous. Where is democracy and the rule of law?" charged Dr Jeffrey.

He said they would discuss the matter with the lawyers and make a decision.

Meanwhile, Sabah Umno Wanita Chief Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid said they accepted the court's decision and will continue their fight for Sabah and its people.

"We will continue with our struggles with the Gabungan Bersatu Sabah (GBS) for the State and its people," she said when met outside the courthouse.

"We just see if they (Warisan) can rule Sabah, according to what the people of Sabah truly want," she added. - Larry Ralon
