Tawau: Deputy Chief Minister cum Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Jaujan Sambakong strongly urged all civil servants under local enforcement authority master Information Communication Technology (ICT) and digital technology well so they would not lag behind the public.

Jaujan said it is important for civil servants who are serving in the local enforcement authority to empower and strive to improve their skills in the use of ICT.

They must maximize the use of digital technology in serving the public or else the public will be more advanced than them, he said.

He told the media this after officiating at the state-level ICT Seminar for public sector at Tawau public library here on Monday.

100 participants from 24 local enforcement authorities throughout the state participated in the seminar.

"It was an accurate initiative to allow civil servants of local enforcement authorities to master the ICT and I hope they will grab this opportunity to equip themselves with such knowledge and skills.

"Knowledge is growing at all time and everyone must get updated with the latest knowledge or else they will be left behind," he said.

Also present was the president of Tawau Municipal Council Alijus Sipil. - Christy Chok
