Mah Sing welcomes policy on affordable houses

Kuala Lumpur: Mah Sing Group Bhd has welcomed the recent announcement by the government on the policy of building affordable houses priced below RM500,000. Its Chief Executive Officer Datuk Ho Hon Sang said 74 per cent of the group's residential sales in 2018 were priced below RM500,000."Mah Sing has been developing affordably-priced homes since 2015 and wants to be a big contributor to the development of affordable homes for the nation," he said in a statement on Monday.

Aligning with this, Mah Sing embarked on a Reinvent Affordability campaign late last year, covering four projects namely M Centura in Sentul, M Vertica in Cheras, M Vista in Penang and Fern phase 2 in Meridin East, Johor.On Oct 12, Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin reportedly said that the government would incorporate three categories of affordable housing to be constructed under the National Housing Policy, with houses fetching RM150,000 and below, RM150,000 – RM300,00, and RM300,000 – RM500,000 making up the new categories.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
