PKR Libaran chief made Nominated Assemblyman
Kota Kinabalu: The Ketua Cabang (division chief) of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Libaran, Jaffari Wiliam (pic), has been made a nominated assemblyman. He is the fifth to fill the quota of six after Warisan Sec-Gen Loretto Padua and Treasurer-General Terence Siambun, Upko Acting President Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau and State DAP Chairman Stephen Wong, all of whom were sworn in last June.

It is not known when Jaffari would take his oath. The 42-year-old Sandakan-born joined the PKR in 1999 at age 23.

In 2004, he became a committee member of the party's Libaran division and was its election director in the 13th general election.

In the last general election, Jaffari did not contest but lent his support to ensure victory for the Warisan candidate in Gum-Gum.

He became Libaran division chief after winning the post uncontested in the party election this year.
