Judo delivers another bronze

Kota Kinabalu: Judo contributed another bronze for the Sabah contingent on day six of the 19th Sukma Games in Perak on Thursday.Choi E-Faye delivered the fourth medal in the women's -48kg category following her teammates' two silvers and one bronze medal haul on Wednesday.However, another judo exponent Angeline Choi missed out on the podium to finish in fifth place in the women's -52kg.

There was also a final event in cycling on Thursday where debutant Waldron Chee again displayed his potential with a credible sixth place finish in the Men's Individual 160km Road Race while teammates Lim Chun Kiat crossed the line in 31st position, Bong Yong Xian in 36th and Darren Chong in 55th.Some lawn bowl players were involved on the opening day of the preliminary rounds with Hafiz Firdaus Affendy starting on the right note in his men singles Group B match by beating Adam Mazlee Yusoff of Pahang 21-13.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

The women's triples team of Dayangku Haslyn Suraya Ag Husin, Erani Alairin and Nur Amirah Tain also registered a 12-9 victory over their Negeri Sembilan opponents in Group Q.However, the men's fours which comprised of Mohamad Shah Redzuan Manis, Shaffik Abdul Murah, Qwanelee Junaidih Malintau and Edver Rivaldee Holiday were soundly beaten 6-20 by Federal Territory in Group H while the duo of Norcahaya Zakaria and Nurnajmi Jannah Jali also lost to Melaka 7-14 in Group L of the women's pairs event.
