Sabah Umno endorses setting up GBS

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Umno Liaison, in its meeting Thursday, agreed and supported the setting up of opposition bloc Gabungan Bersatu Sabah (GBS).

Its Chairman, Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor, said GBS is an opposition coalition that unites all existing opposition parties in the State.

He said GBS, which is in the process of registration, thus far consist of Umno, Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) and Star.

"GBS will become a strong opposition bloc in Sabah and we are determined to take over the Sabah State Government in the next General Election," he said after he chaired the Sabah Umno Liaison meeting held at Umno building here.

Hajiji said Sabah Umno viewed that the existing opposition parties in Sabah needs to unite as one force and move together in one direction in fighting for interests and rights of the people in Sabah.

Sabah Umno Deputy Chairman Datuk Bung Moktar Radin, Secretary Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun, Information Chief Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Haji Mulia, Treasurer Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan, Wanita Chief Datuk Hajah Jainab Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Ahmad Ayid, Youth Chief Aziz Julkarnain, and Supreme Council Member Datuk Seri Dr. Mohd.Salleh Said Keruak who is also Kota Belud Umno Chief, among others, were also present.
