Published on: Saturday, August 11, 2018

Kota Kinabalu: It was the end of the road for the State reserve team as they only managed a 1-1 draw with Felda United at Stadium UPM in Serdang, Friday, and with the final result, they failed to progress to the semi-final with a 2-3 aggregate.

The team who were trying to overturn the 1-2 deficit started on a bright note as they dominated the match earlier on.

Shariman Mukarim had the chance to open the scoring but missed in the early minutes before the home side seized control to take the lead in the 38th minute.

Shariman again was given the chance to redeem himself in the 59th minute but this time he shot over the bar with the keeper well beaten while Ariusdius Jais also missed an opportunity to find the net.

Their equalising goal came in the 64th minute through Aidil Safee who met a free kick taken by Syukri Baharun to shoot past the Felda keeper.

Sabah also ended the match with 10-man after Ranilson Batuil was shown the red card by match official. – GL Oh
