Gardens OC issue expected to be resolved by October

Kota Kinabalu: The Occupation Certificate (OC) issue involving the Gardens Condominium at Bundusan, Penampang, which has prevented some 500 buyers from moving into their units, is expected to be resolved by October.State Law and Native Affairs Assistant Minister Jannie Lasimbang said discussions had been finalised with the Penampang District Council (PDC) as well as other relevant authorities which have agreed to acquire the land that will be used to construct the access road to the condominium.

"We have come to a conclusion. The main action that we have decided is instituting the land acquisition immediately by the District Council so that the access road can be built.

"Barring any hitches, we expect the District Council to issue the OC in October this year after some technical issues have been ironed out," she told a press conference after attending a meeting with officials of the Local Government and Housing Ministry, here, Thursday.

Also present were the Ministry's Permanent Secretary Wong Foo Tin, Education and Innovation Assistant Minister Jenifer Lasimbang and Penampang District Officer Robert Stidi.

On June 12, some 500 buyers of units in the Gardens Bundusan, who have been waiting for more than 18 months to move into their units following its completion, urged the State Government to intervene and assist in solving their OC issue due to the access road problem.

It was reported that the project's developer, Marvelgold Development Sdn Bhd @ SC Land, had applied for the Occupation Certificate since November 2016 following completion of construction of the project. - Jeremy S Zabala
