Ex-Karamunting YB quits LDP

Sandakan: Former Karamunting State Assemblyman Datuk Charles O Pang has quit Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) with immediate effect.He declined to explain his reason for making the decision but confirmed that he was not retiring from politics.

Charles, who was LDP's Elopura division chief, served only one term as an elected representative from 2013 to 2018.

He was not fielded by his party to contest in the just concluded 14th general election.

He was also a life member of LDP and held a supreme council post.

He announced his decision after chairing the divisional meeting for the last time, Wednesday.

He had been a member of LDP for 14 years.

Eighteen committee members from the division also left the party with him with immediate effect.

LDP pulled out from the Barisan Nasional after losing in all four state seats and one parliamentary seat it contested in the general election.
