Gerald receives call for National U-19 training

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah's Gerald Gadit from the Youth Cup squad has been called up for the National Under 19 squad training cum selection session to be held at Wisma FAM and also in Bangkok, Thailand from May 20-June 4.He was among 27 players listed by FAM to prepare for the AFF Under 19 tournament to be held in Indonesia from June 29-July 15.However, four names will be dropped before the team proceeds to Bangkok for the training camp on May 29 where they will stay until June 4.ADVERTISEMENT Gerald who hails from Tenom can play in both left and right back positions. He made his debut in the Youth Cup competition last season and is currently registered with the under-21 President Cup squad.He is more of a back up player for the President Cup team this season and was called upon in several occasions to stand in for regulars such as Zaki Sapri and Evan Wensley Wenceslaus when they are not available due to suspensions or injuries.He said on Wednesday that he was caught by surprise with the call-up."I was shocked when I received the news.
