MBVKK emerge overall champs

Kota Kinabalu: Master Barry Voon Kota Kinabalu Club (MBVKK) clinched the overall title in the inaugural 1st MBV-Polytechnic Kota Kinabalu Cup Taekwondo Invitational Championship 2018 which ended at the Polytechnic Kota Kinabalu hall here on Sunday. MBVKK emerged champions among 19 participating teams after sweeping the top spots in both the Poomsae and Kyorugi Categories. In the Poomsae Category, Kota Marudu Taekwondo Club (KMTC) came second followed by Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) in third place. Whilst for the Kyorugi Category, Kelab Taekwondo Tenom and Perdana Taekwondo Club (PTC) clinched the second and third spot respectively. Some 900 athletes throughout the State took part in the three-day meet jointly organised by MBV Taekwondo Club and Polytechnic Kota Kinabalu which was held from May 11-13. The closing ceremony was graced by Polytechnic Kota Kinabalu Director, Zainab Othman. Also present were Polytechnic Kota Kinabalu Head of Sports, Co-curriculum and Culture Department, Mohd. Syadiqin Ag. Adi and Championship Chairman, Elmer Magbanua.
