Ranau: Parti Kerjasama Anak Negeri (PKAN) Anak Negeri support any move to reduce the tenure of the Chief Minister of Sabah to two terms and that Chief Minister should not hold the post of Minister of Finance simultaneously to ensure there is checks and balances on the management of state finances. Its President Datuk Henrynus said the tenure of current Chief Minister Tan Sri Musa Aman has been uninterrupted for the last 15 years and hold two of the most powerful posts in Sabah dealing with government and financial matters. He said Umno came to Sabah with a promise to rotate the CM post every two years but stopped the rotation system when the current Chief Minister was appointed in 2003.ADVERTISEMENT While there is merit in stopping the rotation system, there is a need to ensure limits to the tenure of the Chief Minister to two terms in order to prevent vested family interest to be deeply entrenched, Hendrynus said.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

"The post of Chief Minister no doubt wields tremendous power and influence in the political and business establishment of Sabah, " said Henrynus when making his campaign debut at Kg Nalumad Ranau (N29 Kundasang).Hendrynus said a small party like Parti Kerjasama Anak Negeri has been subjected to threats and intimidations by invisible hands creating fear to the extent no businessmen even dare to lend money, buy assets party members want to sell, let alone donate money for election to any of Anak Negeri candidates.
