Labuan: The well-planned strategy devised by the Labuan Barisan Nasional (BN) election machinery will guarantee BN retains the island's seat for the 14th General Election (GE14), according to BN candidate Datuk Rozman Isli."Labuan BN now needs to remain focused and work on consolidating the strategy of the election machinery in a planned manner to ensure the people continue to give BN the mandate to bring continuous progress to the island."

Rozman spoke to reporters here after arriving in Labuan Sunday night, upon receiving his nomination letter at Dewan Tun Ismail, Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) during the unveiling of BN's candidates for 13 parliamentary seats in the Federal Territories on the same day.

His nomination was announced by Federal Territory BN Secretary Datuk Rizalman Mokhtar.

Rozman is confident that with the work put in by the BN machinery here in the last couple of months, they will secure the victory with a greater majority and their efforts will be fruitful.

"It is imperative that the people continue to give us the mandate to ensure we can continue to implement the national transformation programme (TN50) more efficiently for the benefit of the people.

"Under Datuk Seri Najib's leadership, we have seen the country's economy grow rapidly, in which the size of the national economy has also surged with the increase of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) as a result of the ruling government's strategic planning," he added.

Rozman also expressed his gratitude to Najib and Federal Territories BN Chairman Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Mansor for bestowing their trust in him to contest again and guaranteed that Labuan will contribute one seat to BN with a handsome majority.

The one-term MP here has been renamed to defend the seat against what is expected to be a four-cornered fight with Warisan, PAS and an independent.

Also present were Labuan BN deputy head division Datuk Bashir Alias and Labuan BN component party leaders. - Iffah Dilaney
