Woman fined RM10,000 over petrol

Kota Kinabalu: A 40-year-old woman was fined RM10,000 or three months' jail for keeping 750 litres of petrol without permit.Sitti Sisa Magsaysay pleaded guilty before Sessions Court Judge Ainul Shahrin Mohamad, Wednesday.Sitti was found keeping the schedule control goods inside a vessel at 7.30pm on Aug 29, 2012 at the Angkasa Baru jetty in Kudat.

The offence under Section 20(1) of the Control of Supplies Act 1961 and punishable under Section 22(1) carries a fine of up to RM100,000, or a jail term of up to three years, or both, on conviction.The court heard an enforcement team from the Domestic Trade Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry (KPDNKK) conducted a check at the Angkasa Baru jetty in Kudat.During the check on the vessel belonging to Salbasyon Tohang, the team found 750 litres of petrol inside the vessel without any permit.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

Further investigation revealed that Slabasyon had authorised his daughter Sitti to manage the said vessel.
