PBS confident of recapturing Inanam

Kota Kinabalu: Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Deputy President Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili expressed confidence in recapturing Inanam in the coming general election."A field feedback in Inanam showed the grassroots have a major change of heart in favour of Barisan Nasional," he said after meeting the PBS divisional members and polling district leaders, Friday.

The Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister added that the party's election machinery has been activated and ready to face the 14th general election.

"In a survey, grassroots have expressed regrets of voting opposition in the past because they cannot bring change and development to the rakyat.

"This is especially so for the Kadazan Dusun and Murut (KDM) and Chinese communities in the area," said Ongkili, who has also been tasked by the PBS Supreme Council members to carry presidency duties.

He said voting in protest as in the past do not bring in any benefit to anybody, except the opposition.

"The BN government has done a lot for Inanam people, especially in improving drainage and reducing traffic congestion which had troubled motorists frequenting the area.

"We would like to urge leaders and voters in Inanam and Sepanggar not to waste their votes to the opposition.

Vote for development and prosperity," he advised.

Also present were PBS Deputy President Datuk Jamilah Sulaiman, PBS Secretary General Datuk Johnny Mositun, PBS Information Chief Datuk Jahid Jahim, PBS Inanam Division Chief Fredoline Totin Bangon, OKK Datuk William Majimbun and former Inanam Assemblyman Datuk Johnny Goh.
