Safa wants TMJ to stay

Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Football Association (Safa) has echoed the statements from other quarters in urging Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim to remain as the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) President.Its deputy president II Datuk Lawrence Gimbang said the Johor Crown Prince or better known as TMJ, has proven that he was the right man to steer Malaysian football into a brighter future.

"Tunku Ismail has given many fresh ideas in the efforts to improve the performance and development of football in the country," he said in a statement, here, Friday.

"The Safa Supreme Council members and all of its district affiliates hence want Tunku Ismail to reconsider his decision to quit as the president of FAM."
