Pole ends Chin's historic run

Kota Kinabalu: Christian Didier Chin's historic singles run at the Australian Open in Melbourne Park came to an end on Monday.The 17-year-old Sabahan put up a good fight in the morning second round match before losing to Poland's Wojciech Marek 5-7 2-6 in the junior Grand Slam event.

He had earlier won 3-6, 6-0, 7-6 against Australian Thomas Bosancic in his opening round match on Sunday.

However, he is still going in the doubles event after he partnered Siddhant Banthia of India to defeat Bosanic and George Loffhagen of Great Britain 6-1, 7-6 in the first round, Monday.

They will next take on second seeded pair Senastian Korda of USA and Colombian Nicholas Meija today (Tuesday) for a place in the quarterfinal.
