Kota Kinabalu: Sabah President Cup head coach Johnny Dominicus was pleased with his players despite the team losing 0-2 to Indonesian side PPLM Bina Sentra in a friendly on Monday afternoon at the Likas Synthetic pitch.'Yes, we lost the match 2-0 but you can see that the boys gave a good account of themselves against a strong team.

"The Indonesian side have very experienced players including two national players.

I learned from their coach that the team have been together for two years as well."

Johnny who last held the head coach post for the junior team back in 2012 said the players were short of fitness.

"We only had one week to prepare the team, and in terms of fitness, the players are definitely not to the level yet. No issue on team play because most of them used to play together in the Under-21 and Under-19 squad, and may be only a few new ones need to adapt to the team. I believe the team will be fine if all the players are fit."

He also said there are 29 players in the squad at the moment but not all can make the final list for the new season.

"We have 29 players at the moment but not all are confirm hundred percent, and we are still looking for any good ones in the Saga games.

"We have been asked to go to Sandakan to watch the semi-final and final matches. If there are any better and suitable ones we will then add to the positions needed."

He also disclosed that the team are taking a week off and training will resume on December 18. - GL Oh
