SM Lok Yuk A, SMK Bandau A on course for final showdown

Kota Kinabalu: Top two seeds SM Lok Yuk A and SMK Bandau A are on course for a final showdown in the boys team event of the AirAsia–BAM National Junior Leagie (Sabah) 2017 tournament which started at the Kota Kinabalu Sports Complex, Friday.SM Lok Yuk A led by Sabah Under-18 champion Neville Baptist Luaran with teammates Ling Dai Hau, Arthur Liew, Fong Kuo Yoong, Russell Chin Ming Heng, Scyrel Bryan Milly and Jonathan Jordan Jonioh won their opening two matches 5-0 in Group A against SMK Majakir and SMK Pekan Kota Belud. SMK Bandau A on the other hand with Mohd Fahmi Jani, Aronde Clayree Andrew, Eric Leong, Howard Abner, Roland Maxwell Sinuar, Ryan Olsen Raijin and Daniel Edry Elvstly also won their two matches 5-0 against SMK Membakut and SMK Tambunan in Group B.

In Group C, SMK Tamparuli top the standing with wins over SMK Tambunan A (3-2), SM Lok Yuk B (3-2) and SMK Beaufort B (3-2) while SMK Keningau also won all their matches to top Group D with wins over SMK Bukit Garam (5-0), SMK Beaufort B (5-0) and SMK Kota Marudu B (5-0).Meanwhile, in the girls event, top seed SMK Pekan Kota Belud led by state champion Arena Satu Samin were upset by SMK Bukit Garam 1-2 in their second Group A match after winning their opening match against SMK Beaufort A 2-1.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
