GEORGE TOWN: DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng should not contest in the re-election of the party's Central Executive Committee as he is facing two corruption charges, says People's Alternative Party (PAP) Vice-President Rahmad Isahak. He said based on the principle of integrity and moral, the Penang Chief Minister should excuse himself as a candidate in the CEC election in November even though the list of candidates was based on the December 2012 election.

"Rationally to excuse oneself as a candidate would be the best example...when he is facing two corruption charges even though Guan Eng had declined to resign as Chief Minister.

"Essentially he should reject any posts in the party including the CEC when the third party election is held," he said in a statement.

Radmad said this was the best time for a leader like Guan Eng to transform the question of moral as well as the element of integrity or credibility.
