Sabah eatery comes up with Lobster Nasi Lemak
Kota Kinabalu: Nasi lemak buffs can now enjoy the favourite Malaysian dish with lobster, instead of the standard chicken, beef or cuttlefish.Tavern Kitchen & Bar in Imago Shopping Mall is offering their Nasi Lemak with freshly-baked Lobster, believed the first in Malaysia and elevating it to a new level.

Nasi Lemak is cooked with coconut milk and pandan leaves, for that pleasing and creamy aroma topped off with a number of garnishes such as fried anchovies, roasted peanuts, boiled egg and freshly sliced cucumbers along with sambal.

Diners will have a selection of either 400gm (RM49) or 600gm (RM89) of lobster, sourced freshly from local markets.

Patrons will have a selection of three sauces – Buttermilk, Satay Sauce or Spicy Sambal which will be baked, infusing it into the lobster, creating a punch to its flavour.

The choice does not end there as diners will also have the option to add-on giant Tiger Prawns or Giant Squids or even both to go with their already savoury Nasi Lemak. The decoration of the dish should not go unnoticed as the dish is served on banana leaf and bamboo sieve, giving it a nice traditional touch.

The lobster's meaty texture and subtle shellfish taste makes a wonderful accompaniment.

Only 30 servings will be available daily, so patrons cannot afford to be late. - Locksley Ng
