No shortage of goals in second week

Kota Kinabalu: The second week of the Datuk Tawfiq Cup football tournament saw another high scoring game where AMV FC Kimanis thrashed Sporting Kinabalu FC 9-1 in Group A match held at the Likas Synthetic pitch over the weekend.AMV who lost 1-5 to Racing Athletics in the opening week took a 6-1 lead in the first half with a hat-trick from Mohd Iqhbal and a goal each from Mohd Fitri, Mohd Ashri and Md Farhan while Ilhan Mat Kassim netted the only goal for Sporting Kinabalu. Iqhbal and Fitri both added another one in the second half with the other from Ridzuan Agus.

AMV continued their winning run with a slim 1-0 win over Kapazan Real Junior in their second match to top the group with six points followed by Likas United FC 2 with three points.

In Group B, Barracuda FC Pensiangan also won their second match of the competition with a 4-1 victory over Real FC 4-1 to top the group with six points. The other Group B match saw a 2-2 stalemate between Adisson FC Kota Belud and The Blues FC KK.

Four more matches were held with Simfield FC KK edging Juta FC Keningau 1-0 and Terra Queen FC KK drew 0-0 with Kee United FC Tawau in Group C while in Group D, Unida CF KK beat Mix Edu United Tuaran 4-1 and Darau FC KK defeated Kelab Reka DBKK 2-1 in Group E. – GL Oh
