Second RM1.6b Tenom dam soon

Tenom: Work on a hydro-electric dam with a capacity of 180 megawatts in Ulu Padas is expected to begin early next year, said Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Datuk Dr Maximus Ongkili.The RM1.6 billion project is in the final stages of financial assessment."This project does not use the State Government's money but is fully funded by a development company with has been agreed upon", he said. The dam, the second in Tenom, was being fully funded by a company which would have 60pc share while the remaining 40pc by the State Government.
