35 held in yet another blitz
Kota Kinabalu: A total of 70 people were screened in yet another integrated operation led by the city police, here, Friday.Of the figure, a total of 34 foreigners comprising Filipinos and Indonesians, aged between five months and 60, were detained under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act.

A Rungus man was also nabbed for suspected substance abuse.

The eight-hour operation, which ended about 9.30am, was held at eight locations in Inanam, Kolombong and Likas.

It involved a total of three officers and 64 personnel from the auxiliary police, National Security Council, General Operations Force, City Hall, Rela and Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd.

City Police Chief ACP M. Chandra said the operation was aimed at preventing crime in locations with the potential of becoming a hub for criminals and drug activities, particularly in Inanam, Kolombong and Likas.

City Hall also made markings on illegal structures and demolished two such structures found behind Servay Likas.

Illegal wiring connections at squatter settlements were also disconnected by Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd. - Sherell Ann Jeffrey
