Cop seriously injured in crash

Kota Kinabalu: A policeman sustained serious injuries when the Naza Picanto vehicle he was driving crashed near the RTM building along Jalan Lintas-Kepayan, here, Friday. The 25-year-old Dusun attached with the marine police Sports and Training Unit here had just finished work for the day and was returning home to Putatan when the 3.20am mishap took place. He was rushed to the hospital for fractures to his leg and injuries to his mouth. ADVERTISEMENT City Police Chief ACP M. Chandra said initial investigations showed the man came from the Taman Austral direction when he lost control of the vehicle. The impact caused the vehicle to swerve and crash into a tree. Preliminary findings also showed that the accident took place due to the man's failure to control the vehicle.
