M'sia add two more silver medals

Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia added two more silver medals on the third day of the 9th Fazza World Para Athletics Championship at the Dubai Club for the Disabled in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Wednesday.The addition of two silver medals saw Malaysia amass four silvers and a bronze in the overall standings after three days of competition.

Mohd Afiq Mohd Ali Hanafiah who had won the silver in the Men's 200m T12 event (Visual impairment) on Tuesday, clinched his second silver in the 100m men's T12 event by clocking 11.43 seconds, according to the Dubai Club for the Disabled's website www.dcd.org.ae.

Great Britain athlete Zachary Shaw who won the men's 200m T12 event, claimed the gold by clocking 11.32 seconds while Shunya Yamaji of Japan settled for the bronze after clocking 11.65s.

Malaysia's second silver medal was contributed by Muhd Nurdin Ibrahim in the 1,500m men's T20/37/46 event (Intellectual disabilities/coordination impairments/single below or above elbow amputation) after he finished in second place with a time of 4 minutes 19.35 seconds.

Kenyan athlete, Wesley Kimeli Sang won the gold with a time of 4 minutes 10.60 seconds while Luke Nuttall of Great Britain had to be contended with bronze by clocking 4:19.62 seconds. – Bernama
