'Molesting students': Doc remanded
Published on: Sunday, March 19, 2017

Tawau: The 26-year-old doctor suspected of molesting a student and at least five others earlier at a school dental clinic here has been remanded three days until March 20. District Police Chief ACP Fadil Marsus (pic) said the case is being probed under Section 354 of the Penal Code for molesting.

He said their findings will be presented to the Deputy Public Prosecutor for further action.

The 16-year-old student's father expressed disappointment when he learnt that the doctor who attended to his daughter who came to the school's dental clinic to have her teeth checked at about 9.30am on Friday had fondled her breasts.

The 45-year-old man lodged a report at 12.30pm after his daughter came home crying and traumatised, before relating the incident to her father.

The man also claimed that five victims have so far lodged a report and believed that there are others who might have fallen victim to the doctor since last year.

It is believed that the others might be too frightened to lodge a report.

The girl's father tipped-off the police which subsequently led to the dentist being apprehended at the Tawau Airport at about 2.30pm as he was about to leave on a flight to Kuala Lumpur. - Lagatah Toyos
