Kota Kinabalu: Three people sustained slight injuries in two separate accidents here and in Penampang on Saturday. The first accident involved a 24-year-old man who crashed his Toyota Vigo along Jalan Tuaran Bypass near Kampung Kalansanan, Inanam.

A 3.58pm distress call prompted seven personnel from the Lintas Fire and Rescue Department to the scene located about three kilometres away.

The man, however, managed to climb out of the vehicle which had keeled over before the team arrived.

In the second accident, a man in his 40s and his wife cheated death when the Kancil vehicle they were travelling in collided with a lorry near Kasigui, in Penampang, the same day.

The couple was heading towards Kasigui from Donggongon when the collision took place with the one-tonne lorry which was heading to Donggongon from Tambunan at about noon.

The lorry driver in his 30s escaped unhurt.
