Action to be taken if there is sufficient evidence of babies' sale

Kuching: The Health Ministry will take action, including through the Malaysian Medical Council, against the doctor and clinic operators allegedly involved in the sale of babies if there is sufficient evidence. Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam said the doctor and clinic operators involved were still under investigation by the ministry and police."My ministry can also take action to suspend or revoke the licence of the clinic involved," he told reporters after opening the national level World AIDS Day at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here yesterday.

He was referring to the documentary aired by international TV network Al-Jazeera, titled "Malaysia: Babies for Sale", on Nov 25.According to Dr Subramaniam, the doctor and clinic operator were still under investigation by his ministry and police. – Bernama
