Volkswagen Malaysia names Winter as new MD

Kuala Lumpur: Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) has appointed Erik Winter as its new Managing Director with immediate effect. In a statement Thursday, VPCM said Winter succeeded Alin Tapalaga who has returned to Europe due to health reasons.

"Winter will oversee the company's brand and human resource operations," the company said.

VPCM said Winter had previously served with Porsche Holding Salzburg (PHS) for 16 years in numerous business units around the globe.

It said together with Florian Steiner, VPCM Managing Director for Aftersales, Information Technology and Finance, Winter would focus on the company's strategy to increase its market share, strengthen the dealer network and enhance its aftersales service. – Bernama
