Khalid retires as Langkawi Devt Authority CEO

Langkawi: Tan Sri Khalid Ramli retires as Langkawi Development Authority (Lada) Chief Executive Officer (CEO).The handing-over of duties of the office was held at the Lada Complex, in the presence of senior officials of the government agency. Khalid, 67, joined the civil service as assistant secretary of the Foreign Ministry in 1972 before becoming Lada General Manager in 2011, and CEO, a year later.

He also served as Director-General of the Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister's Department for five years from 2004, before being appointed as the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) chairman.Former Tourism Malaysia Tourism Promotion Board deputy director-general Datuk Azizan Nordin will succeed as the new Lada CEO. Azizan, who joined Tourism Malaysia in 1978, held several senior positions in the board before being appointed Deputy Director-General (Planning) in 2008.In addition, he also served as Tourism Malaysia Director-General in 2010, and was appointed chef-de-mission for the government agency's offices in Seoul, South Korea and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia between 1991 and 2003. – Bernama
