Pipes installed but no water for a year

Ranau: The State Water Department must rectify the water problem in the district as soon as possible, especially in far-flung villages where pipelines are already installed but water is yet to be supplied.Paginatan Assemblyman Datuk Siringan Gubat said pipelines had been installed in some villages like Kg Torikon Ranau for about a year but till now there was still no water supply."This is something that should not happen. The relevant authorities must act quickly to rectify the problem because the villagers have been waiting for treated water supply for a very long time.ADVERTISEMENT "We congratulate and welcome the appointment of Ir Willis Ansoi, who once worked in Ranau as an engineer, as the new Sabah Water Department Director. We hope that with the appointment, he could look into the matter and come up with a solution since he is already familiar with the situation here in Ranau," he said.Siringan, who is also Minister of Resource and Information Technology Development, was speaking at a "Leader with the People" programme held at the Kg Torikon Ranau Balai Raya, here, on Friday.Meanwhile, Siringan urged the local people to continue supporting the Government because of its reputation in fending for the needs of the people, especially those living in the villages."We are now nearing another election. After the previous election, we can see that the Government has stayed true to its promises.
