Girl, 4, among three killed as three 4WDs collide

Lahad Datu: A four-year-old girl was among three people killed in an accident involving three four-wheel drives – a Mitsubishi Triton, Isuzu Dmax and Toyota Vigo – at Km26 along the Lahad Datu-Sandakan road, Saturday.The girl and two other victims were the passengers of the Mitsubishi Triton. They were Nadia Farhana, 4, Lasupu Padai, 66, and Norziah Abd Said.It was learnt that the Mitsubishi was heading towards Sandakan from Lahad Datu while another two vehicles were in the opposite direction when the tragedy occurred at 2pm.

District Police Chief, ACP Hamzah Ahmad said preliminary investigations found that the Mitsubishi lost control and skidded to the road shoulder. "It hit the left side of the Toyota and overturned before crashing into the Isuzu."The impact of the crash caused two passengers of Mitsubishi to be trapped inside the vehicle. "They were killed on the spot," he said, adding that a third passenger died while receiving treatment at the hospital.
