Kuching: PAS believes it is "some way ahead" of its arch rival Amanah in the seats both are contesting, with "positive signs" it can win its first ever seat. PAS central election director Datuk Mustafa Ali said this was based on early information gathered from people on the ground."Based on the reports we have received until today, we are in front of them. That's the information we have," he told reporters at the PAS office in Matang Jaya, here, Tuesday night. Mustafa said the reports showed positive signs that the party could win its first seat in Sarawak.ADVERTISEMENT Earlier, PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang chaired a meeting of the party's state election committee to discuss its chances in the May 7 polls. However, the party has refrained from predicting or setting a target of how many of the 11 contested seats it can win. "We cannot confirm that. Even Barisan Nasional cannot say for certain how many they can win," Abdul Hadi said. The PAS president also denied fresh rumours that former Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim could join PAS after he was seen campaigning for its candidate in Samalaju recently.ADVERTISEMENT Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.
