Bombed fish seized, four held

Semporna: Four Bajau men were detained separately in less than an hour for possession of bombed fish and detonators at the Tabo-Tabo waters, by marine police here, on Monday. Sabah Marine Police Commander ACP Mohamad Madun said two Bajau men, aged 40 and 42, were arrested at 2.15pm after a total of five kilogrammes of suspected bombed fish were found in their pump boats. He said the suspects admitted that the fish were caught using explosives and the case was being investigated under the Fisheries Act 1985.

Meanwhile, another two men aged 23 and 27 were detained by the same marine team at 2.45pm for possession of four detonators in their pump boats. Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

He said the case will be investigated under the Corrosive, Explosive Substances and Dangerous Weapons Act. "The boats and its equipment amounting to RM6, 545 were also confiscated for investigations," he said.
