Sabah trio in Miss Malaysia Tourism pageant confident
Kota Kinabalu: All three Sabah aspirants in the Miss Malaysia Tourism 2015 pageant are confident of making the State proud come September."It's just like BMW – the Best Man Wins," jested newly-crowned Miss Sabah Tourism 2015, Janet Fabian, 26.

"I think all three of us stand a chance to win. Hence may the best lady win," said the Sino-Kadazan.

Fabian, together with first runner-up Xandria Ban, 21, and second runner-up Pachara E. Apin, 24, will jointly compete with the rest from Perak, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor during the national leg of the pageant from Sept 28 till Oct 9.

Fabian walked away with RM3,000 and a Canon PS G7X Camera worth RM2,119 during the State's grand finals which was held at Hakka Association Hall, Tg Lipat on June 19.

Fabian, who hails from Penampang, is more than willing to play the State's ambassador in tourism.

"I believe what is in Sabah shouldn't stay in Sabah," she said. "I am passionate about tourism and I served, for a short period of time, as a tour guide.

"I will promote the Mengalum Island during the national finals as it is an unpolluted island with white sandy beaches. At night, the beach will glitter with Ostracod Crustaceans, or commonly known as 'Blue Tears'. I was lucky enough to see it with my own eyes and will definitely recommend it to others," she said.

Ban and Apin, who won RM2,000 plus a Canon PS N2 Camera worth RM1,059; and RM1,500 plus Canon PS SX400IS, respectively, also felt they could contribute to the tourism sector as ambassadors.

Ban, who is still studying, said she would do also her best to promote Sabah during the national finals, while Apin who had been part of Sabah Tourism Board's traditional dancer, had taken part in events held both in Malaysia and China.

The winner of the grand finals will represent Malaysia the international chapter of the pageant in Vietnam. Mah Sing Group is the presenter of Miss Malaysia Tourism this year.
