SMK Tamparuli launches project

Tuaran: SMK Tamparuli on Tuesday launched the Safety Instruments Petronas All About Youth project to instil leadership skills among the students and to unearth their talents.Besides that, it was also to respond to the government's call on preparing youths to be knowledgeable, proactive, innovative, creative and competitive human capital."The programme does not only involve the students in terms of their creativity but it also helps to develop their leadership skills," said Tuaran Member of Parliament Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau during the launching of the programme. ADVERTISEMENT Also present were the school's principal Kusdi Ribut and Sabah and Labuan Petronas General Manager Julita Ontol.The school's team had built safety instruments which includes flood detector, warning lights and roadblocks at the old Tamparuli bridge to reduce the risk of accidents during floods and to ensure the safety of all the road users.Stay up-to-date by following Daily Express’s Telegram channel.

The team had received full support from the Tuaran Public Works Department also did a presentation on the project followed by the signing and launching of the plaque at the old Tamparuli bridge. The team previously had run various fund raising programmes to ensure the success of the project which included collecting recyclable items and organising programmes such as Zumba, Mini Concert in Unity Chorale, garage sale in conjunction with the Science and Technology Expo as well as house cleaning.
