Sabah MCA contributes RM50,000 to quake victims

Kota Kinabalu: Contributions for the Mount Kinabalu earthquake victims continued to pour in, with the latest being MCA divisions from Sabah which donated a total of RM50,000.The contribution was handed over to Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun during a courtesy call led by MCA Penampang Deputy Chief, Datuk Francis Goh, at his office on Monday.During the courtesy call, Goh said he hoped other political parties or NGOs would also come forward to help the victims and the unsung heroes, especially the families of mountain guides who perished during the incident.

"We wish to express our heartfelt condolences to those affected by the earthquake. This is a difficult moment for their family members and they may need future support for their children's education," he said.Masidi, who is also Karanaan Assemblyman, thanked Sabah MCA for the contribution and he too hoped more political parties, NGOs or individuals would come forward to help those affected by the earthquake.
