Census to identify the illegals in Tenom village
Tenom: Residents in Kg. Mantailang ha been warned against employing or harbouring illegal immigrants. Its Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) Chairman Adrain Majakun Matthew who gave the warning, said they have set up a Security Bureau and Sub-Committee comprising five members to ensure there are no illegal immigrants in the village. "They will be assigned to conducting census in the village, including rented premises and estates in the area.

"If needed, we will obtain orders from the District Officer to get Rela to assist in the task so that it would be more systematic," he said during the first meeting held after forming the Kg. Mantailang JKKK here, recently.

Majakum who is a former serviceman, said the time has come for residents to be united in implementing the government's mission and vision to ensure villages are not used as illegal immigrants' hiding nest.

On another note, Majakum also changed the management structure for water gravity which was initially managed by a committee member, putting the responsibility fully under the authority of the JKKK Chairman.

"We want a fair and equal attitude in our water management particularly in terms of monthly fee where each house will continue to pay RM5…there will be no hike in the monthly fee without approval from the JKKK Chairman.

"Apart from that, we will also ensure government facilities such as water tanks, will be distributed equally," he said.
